Being in the business of love we get so excited when Valentine’s day hits the calendar week. This year we are bringing you a versatile design that is ideal for an intimate dinner with that special someone and quick edits that turn this into a Valentine’s dinner with friends offering a special take away!
The holiday can be inundated with the often expected deep reds, bright fuchsia pinks and oh soo many boxes of chocolates. By using neutral tones like charcoal gray (shown below) a dinner setting is elevated feeling a little less commercial.
Blush pink accents add a touch of romance to soften a masculine gray palette. Include these fun desert plates labeled with LOVE from your local Chapters bookstore to complete the look and be sure to grab delicious French Maracons to complete the meal, trust us…chocolate does not compare.
Switch this up for a dinner with friends by swapping in a guest favour like this adorable book of love poems & letters – On Love. Your guests will enjoy flipping through these love stories later that evening or even as a morning after read with their breakfast. Give a guest favour that keep you and your fabulous soiree top of mind even days after the event is over.
To keep the décor romantic and whimsical we added in room accents that keep your guests engaged in the design while you are prepping a delicious meal. Display our absolute favourite visuals of Paris curated by Janelle McCulloch and keep it open to some of her most beautiful photography. The pages will take you on a stroll through Paris, one arrondissement at a time. Pick it up at Anthropologie.
The blush pink pomegranate scented candle is also incorporated in the table design which will create a sense of intimacy throughout the evening. You can find these and the lovely powder blue pitcher at Anthropologie as well, a great source for guest favours.
Glam up any design by adding your bubbly to the table. For valentine’s day we recommend Bottega Gold Prosecco.

Happy Valentine’s Day
Last week we were guests at The Grand Luxe’s annual Wedding Open House. This is hands down one of our absolute favorite venues to work in. Not only is the venue wildly versatile the staff provide the MOST amazing client service. See our go to bar tender below who actually got up on the bar and dazzled the crowed with live fire tricks…very reminiscent of the movie Cocktail.
Upon entrance guests were greeted by our friends at Adagio Valet who took care of parking for the evening. A bonus — the venue has ample free parking for guests and the location is just minutes from the 401 located off of Bayview Avenue south of Finch Avenue. Nestled in the backyard of Bayview Village this venue is as Haute as the neighborhood!
There are so many options for floor plan design and table decor so we captured a few here for you.
Unlike most venues, The Grand Luxe actually stock their own supply of Chiaviari chairs which allows your decor budget to go even further!
Contact us if you have any questions about the vendors in this post.
Last night we were the lucky guests of the Pegasus Hospitality Group at their Wedding Open House for Palais Royale – one of our most adored wedding venues; nestled on the shore of Lake Ontario it represents the epitome of old Toronto.
While we love the beautiful architecture of this historic dance hall, we mostly adore it’s ideal location that places it just minutes from the core of Toronto – also making it easily accessible by those living outside of the city. The venue has ample free parking which we always look to as a bonus when creating a full service experience for your guests.
Last night’s parking was generously taken care of by the wonderful guys at Adagio Valet creating a luxurious experience for your guests from the moment of arrival.
Palais Royale has an enchanting space that seats up to 350 guests for a seated dinner and with customized designs the space can transform into and intimate soiree for your smaller guest counts making this space so very versatile. Additions of delicious food stations like this ‘Poutine Royale’ make the space a little bit more social and interactive for guests.
Here are a few more photos of the night. Thanks to our dear friends at Palais Royale for a lovely evening!
